We built Ed's truck in 1983. The total restoration took just less than a year and it was done about as old school as it gets. After completion, Ed took the truck home and built a fantastic set of stake side rails out of mahogany and oak. When he finished he put the truck away and there is sat. Fast forward to 2013 and only 50 miles driven since... tires are bad, fuel turned into syrup, rats built a condominium under the seat and the beginnings of dry rot got the hoses and belts. But the paint was still solid and all the details of the build still shown through. We cleaned, buffed, replaced and basically brought the truck back to its former glory and Ed is a happy man, again.
This was the first complete build at the gas station. A 1961 Chevy Impala with a '67 427 tri-power and 700 R4 trans with a 3:08 posi gears. We kept the car for a few years and then put it up for sale in an auction. Brought pretty good money for the time.
