Jim's 3/4 ton long-bed started as a decent truck we found for him. After discussing exactly what
he wanted in an old truck, his decision was a reliable and original as possible, driver. New tires on correct wheels was the first order of business, followed by replacing a rotten bed and dolling up the interior. After a tuneup and servicing... Jim got what he was looking for in a truck and we got a happy customer.
Pepper is a '65 1-ton dually that we built 12 years ago and has now become a versatile patina shop truck. Grafted from a C-10 cab and clip to a '66 C-30 frame and fitted with a '87 1-ton front and rear suspension, giving us disc brakes and a higher final gear ratio. Pepper is equipped with a fuel injected and electronic ignition 350 engine plus a 9000 lb. winch, this beast has become a fantastic salvage yard getter and a dependable daily driver.
Or should we say Kim's Truck?
This fine 3/4 ton belonged to her grandpa and it was worked hard. We patched the big rust issues and matched the original patina. Rebuilt the 292-six and converted to auto trans. We added power brakes and steering, recovered the seat and got everything working good. Soon to be delivered to the family in North Carolina... congrats guys.
There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line. Puffer was completed in 1979 and was the beginning of our love for all trucks old. This 5 window custom deluxe was a year long quest, back before the market was flooded with aftermarket parts, to build dependability and uniqueness in a daily driver we scrounged up all the new parts available and reconditioned the rest. And that she was for 15 years, our only vehicle. This is a perfect example of just how long a well built truck can withstand the test of time. 35 years and going strong...
